Died From Injuries
James Curry Passes Away at St. Luke Hospital This Morning
James Curry, who was thrown from a wagon Friday evening last, died at St. Lukes’ hospital this morning at about 9 o’clock, the result of his injuries.
It will be remembered that with his son Thomas, Mr. Curry was driving on Rockingham road when the team became frightened and unmanageable and ran away. Both Mr. Curry and his son were thrown from the wagon, the former sustaining a fracture of the shoulder and of the thigh, with injuries about the head. The son received a sprain. Both were taken to St. Luke’s hospital where they were tended by Dr. Crawford.
Mr. Curry did not improve and his head seemed to give him a good deal of trouble. Meningitis set in and from this he died.
Deceased was 57 years of age and has resided in this city for forty years. He was widely known hereabouts and resided with his son at 1314 West Third street.
He is survived by the following:
Mrs. William Malone, of this city, Mrs. Thomas Nissen of Cedar Falls, Ia., Thomas Curry and Daniel Curry of this city. These arrived in the city this morning to be at the bedside of their father. The funeral will probably be held Friday morning at 9 o’clock with services at St. Mary’s church. Interment will be at St. Mary’s cemetery.
