Today at 2 o’clock with services at the residence and at the church at Long Grove, occurred the funeral of Mrs. George Marti. Mrs. Marti was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Clapp of this city, formerly of Long Grove. Eight years ago she was united in marriage to George Marti, son of Hon. Chris. Marti. She was born and reared near Long Grove, her parents being old settlers of that vicinity, and since her marriage has continued to make it her home. Her death occurred at their home four miles west of that place.
Mrs. Emma Clapp Marti was 34 years of age at the time of her death and is survived by her bereaved husband and one child. She was a young woman of fine character and loving disposition, and had a host of friends. She is also survived by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Clapp, and the following brothers and sisters; Major S. H. Clapp, S. B. Clapp, Topeka, Kas., Charles and David of Eldridge, Mrs. M. Brenter [?] and Mrs. L. B. Gay of this city and Miss Birdie at home.
A large number of people left this city this morning to attend the funeral. The interment was in the cemetery at Long Grove.
