Miss Thorington Dead
Word Received by W. C. Wadsworth Today - Funeral Here
This morning W. C. Wadsworth of this city received a telegram from his son, W. M. Wadsworth of Brooklyn, N. Y., announcing the death of Miss Naomi Thorington, a former resident of Davenport and who has many friends here. The telegram gives nothing as to the cause of death.
Miss Thorington was born in this city and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Thorrington and a granddaughter of the late James Thorrington. Since her mother’s death she has made her home with her aunt, Mrs. W. M. Wadsworth and removed with Mrs. Wadsworth to Brooklyn, where she has made her home since. She is 22 years of age and was a bright and charming young lady.
Besides her father, who resides in Montgomery, Ala., she is survived by two sisters, Mary, whose home is in Chicago and Willella, who resides in this city with her aunt, Mrs. Jessie Woodmansee.
The remains of the deceased will arrive in this city Tuesday evening and will be taken to the residence of Mrs. Woodmansee. The funeral will be private, from the Woodmansee home Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock.
The death of this young lady has cast a pall over many a home in this city. She was beloved by her young lady friends and her untimely taking away has caused deep sorrow.
