Stoffer

Johann H. Stoffer, 511 Johnson avenue, died at Mercy hospital at 6 p.m. Sunday after a years’ illness. He was 72 years old.

Born in Germany, Aug. 23, 1854, he grew to manhood there. In 1886, he was married to Miss Wilhelmina Schenck in Germany. In 1911, they came to America, and at once to Davenport. His wife preceded him in death Jan. 13, 1924.

Surviving are three sons, Gus A., Hans and Ott, all of Davenport; one brother, Fritz, in Germany; a sister, Miss Sophia Filter, in Germany; and 13 grandchildren.

The funeral will be held from the Runge chapel Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be in Fairmount cemetery.
