R. T. Kennedy Latest Victim of Pneumonia
Succumbs at Home After Illness of Three Days
Robert T. Kennedy, 928 West Fourth street, died at 5:45 p. m. Thursday at his home after an illness of three days duration. Death was due to pneumonia.
Mr. Kennedy was born in County Antrim, Ireland, March 21, 1870. He came to America in 1881, direct to Eldridge, Ia. In 1888, he became employed by the C. R. I. & P. Railway and had been in their employ since. He went to Oxford, Ia. In 1893 and came to Davenport in 1920. Mr. Kennedy was married to Mrs. Aanna [sic] Catherine Huot on Nov. 5, 1922 in Muscatine by the Rev. F. J. Leonard.
During his years of residence here, Mr. Kennedy drew to him a wide circle of friends. He was a member of Loras Council No. 532, K. of C., and the Holy Name Society of St. Mary’s church.
Surviving besides the widow are one daughter, Angela Huot Kennedy; and a son Francis Huot, both of Davenport; a brother Campbell Kennedy of Australia; and one sister, Margaret Kennedy, Ireland.
The body was removed to the Halligan Funeral Home and will be taken to the late residence Saturday afternoon from where the funeral will be held at 8:30 a. m. Monday, with services at 9 o’clock at St. Mary’s church. Burial will be made in Holy Family cemetery.
Members of the Loras Council, Knights of Columbus, will meet at the home 8 o’clock Saturday evening for the recitation of the Rosary.
