Friday afternoon at 5 o’clock at his residence 1919 Eddy street occurred the death of John Hromatko at the age of 71 years. The cause of death was Bright’s disease of long duration. Only for the past week was he confined to his bed. The end came peacefully without any great pain or distress.

The deceased was born in Bohemia and came to this country forty years ago, settling in Scott county. He has been a resident of this city for the past 35 years. He is survived by his wife, and five daughters, Mrs. Joseph Oddwacher and Mrs. Katie McGroudy , of Los Angeles, Cal., Mary of Massachusetts, Annie of Nebraska, and Emma, at home.

The funeral will probably occur Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from his late residence with interment at Oakdale.
