Mrs. Margaret B. Smith died at 1 a. m. Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Criswell, on the Jersey Ridge road near the city. Deceased was 80 years of age, and had enjoyed fairly good health till recently. About ten days ago she was attacked by neuralgia of the heart and died after great suffering.

She was born in Bedford county, Pa., in 1816. She came here in 1856, the wife of Robert Gooden. Fifteen years later he died. Several years afterward she was married to Ira F. Smith, who died about five years ago.

Deceased was the mother of seven children. Two others, beside Mrs. Criswell, Robert Gooden, of Gilchrist, Ill., and Mrs. Archie Graham, of Searshora, Iowa, were with her when she passed away. The funeral will be held from the home on the Jersey Ridge road at 1 o’clock tomorrow, with interment at Summit cemetery.
