OBITUARY

BAUERLE, Mrs. Anna, died last night very suddenly at her home, No. 1439 West Third street, aged 64 years and 5 months.

The sudden ending of the life of Mrs. Anna Bauerle last night removed from Davenport an old and respected resident of Scott county and left a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn her demise. She was found lying on the floor beside her chair, by her daughter, Katherine, about 10:30 last night, cold in death. The sudden shock of the discovery nearly prostrated Miss Bauerle, but she called her brother Edward, who was sleeping upstairs, and Dr. Neufelt was immediately summoned, and she was pronounced dead, and the cause was ascribed to heart failure.

Mrs. Bauerle was subject to heart trouble, but she had uttered no complaint during the day. She visited at a neighbor's during the afternoon and ate a hearty supper, and laughed and joked with the family as usual. During the evening her son, Jacob Bauerle went uptown, and the family retired at the usual hour, leaving Mrs. Bauerle in the kitchen, she saying she would sit up and read the paper awhile. About 10:30 her daughter Katharine, who occupies the same room with her mother, missing her, went downstairs to the kitchen, thinking she might have fallen asleep in her chair, and there found her mother lying as before described, cold in death.

Anna Vrache was born in Nadesville, Switzerland, July 8, 1840, where she was married to Jacob Bauerle. With her husband she came to Scott county in an early day and settled on a farm. Five years ago she moved to Davenport and this city has been her home ever since. Her husband died several years ago, but there survive her eight children, John of Casleyton, Neb.; Mrs. L. Westphal, of Davenport; Mrs. L. Berger, of West Union, Neb.; Mrs. S.B. Brown of Cairo, Ill.; Mrs. S.E. Wyrick, of Maquoketa, Ia., and Jacob, Katharine and Edward, at home.

The funeral arrangements will be announced tomorrow.
