OBITUARY

WENDHAUSEN, William. Died last night at his boarding house, No. 616 West Front street, aged 80 years.

Mr. Wendhausen's death occurred some time durnig the night and was unwitnessed. He complained of a pain in his side before retiring, but did not seem to feel unusually bad. He was afflicted with heart disease, and that, together with old age, is supposed to be the cause of death. He was found this morning lying in bed as though sleeping. The coroner was notified, but it was not deemed necessary to hold an inquest.

Deceased was born in Germany, Sept. 15, 1824, and was married to Miss Louisa Ruebewap, in March, 1856, and came to America in 1868. He came to Davenport soon after landing in America, where his wife died in 1870.

Mr. Wendhausen is survived by four sons, Herman, William, Adam, and August Wendhausen, and one daughter, Louisa, wife of Edward Luett.

The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the residence of his son-in-law, Edward Luett, and the interment will be in the City cemetery.
