REINKE
Late yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs E.P. Huot, 724 east 10th St., occurred the death of Mrs Elizabeth Reinke,one of the old settlers of Iowa.
Although the deceased had not been in the best of health for some time her death was rather sudden,as she was ill but a few hours. Death was due to an attack of heart trouble.
Mrs. Reinke was born in Clearfield county, Pa. ,on Jan. 6, 1832, being at the time of her demise 80 years of age. When a small child, together with her parents, she came west, traveling over the country in a wagon, which at the time was the only means of transportation. the family settled in Lynn(Linn) county, Ia.,where she remained for a number of years. In 1872 she was united in marriage for the second time to Henry(Claus)Reinke, the couple coming to Scott county and engaging in farming on middle road until 1892, when Mr. Reinke passed away, the deceased came to Davenport and made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Huot, up to the present time.
The survivors are her two daughters by the last marriage, Mrs. (Emile) P.Huot of Davenport and Mrs. D.W. Clark of Tucumcari, NM; three daughters by the first union,, Mrs. Annie O'brien of Stewart(Stuart) Ia., Mrs(Susan)Thomas Grace of Neola, Ia and Ms May Reinke of Stewart, Ia; two sisters, Mrs. (Margaret)Howard Carver of Cumberland, Ia.and Mrs Hanna Maurer of Davenport.
The funeral will be held tommorrow morning at 8:30 am from the home with services at the Sacred Heart Cathedrel 9am. Interment will be made at St. Marguerites cemetary.
