TOM WHITE OF LECLAIRE DIES IN DAVENPORT
Was Director of LeClaire Savings Bank for 14 Years.

Thomas White of LeClaire, died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of Mrs. Charles Sorrowfree, 1111 Kirkwood boulevard. He had been ailing for over a year and his condition critical for the last two weeks. Mr. White who was formerly a director in the LeClaire Savings bank, came here for treatment some time ago.

The deceased was born in County Tyrone, Ireland, Dec. 20, 1862 and came to America with his parents when 20 years of age, settling at LeClaire. On Dec. 6, 1895, he married Miss Mary Ann Paul of LeClaire at the United Presbyterian church at Argo.

He resided at LeClaire his entire married life where for 14 years he was a director in the savings bank and also an elder in the LeClaire Presbyterian church.

Surviving besides his widow are two step-children, Mrs. James McFate and Fred L. Brown, both of LeClaire; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Martin, LeClaire; and Miss Minnie White, Watertown, S.D.; and five brothers, John Robert, Alec, Porter, and Oliver White, all of Watertown, S.D. One son preceded him in death in infancy.

The body was removed to the McGinnis funeral home from where the funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday with services at 2 o'clock at the LeClaire Presbyterian church. The Rev. C.E. Thompson, assisted by the Rev. E.J. Clark, will officiate. Burial will be made in LeClaire cemetery.
