Iva Spurling was born November 4,1894 at Mt. Carmel, Illinois to Elijah and Nora Ella Mayne Spurling.
She attended schools at Mt. Carmel. On December 2,1911 she was united in marriage to Ross Stevens. They moved to Early, Iowa and made their home there for 42 years. She died May 3,1984 at Sac City of heart disease.
Survivors include eight children; Edward of Ida Grove, Irma Laposky of Cherokee, Arthur of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Bernice Moore of Omaha, NE, Mary Ella Ravelling of Schaller, Ivalu Corderman of Boulder City, NV, Harold of St. Joseph, MO and Marjorie Domino of Sac City; two brothers, Kenneth and Roscoe Spurling; four sisters, Enola Schade, Jean Gard, Irene Schafer and Alberta Schramm; 50 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. (May 11,1984 Sac City Sun, Sac City, Iowa, Newspaper)

Her husband Ross Stevens was born March 19,1888 in Indiana to Edward Wesley Stevens and Mary Alice Turpin. He died September 21,1960. (I didn't have time to look for his obit)
