ODEBOLT, Iowa — Julia F. Gunderson, 87, of Odebolt died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Odebolt, with the Rev. Al Milligan officiating. Burial will be in Odebolt Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family 6 to 8 p.m., at Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home in Odebolt.

Mrs. Gunderson was born July 12, 1912, near Lakefield, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry and Julia (Roslansky) Ukasick. She was raised by her stepmother, Tessie (Pasierbek) Ukasick, following her mother's death.

She married Cyril Kendrick Gunderson on Dec. 1, 1932, in Sioux City. The couple farmed near Montgomery, Iowa, for 10 years. They moved to a farm near Kiron, Iowa, where they farmed for 21 years. In 1965, they moved to Odebolt. Her husband died in 1971.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers and cooking.

Survivors include two sons, Donald of Dike, Iowa, and Marlin and his wife, Shirley, of Kiron; three daughters, Julianne and her husband, Robert Chedester of Sioux City, Suzanne and her husband, Kenneth Roeder, of DeSmet, S.D., and Cindy of New Hope Village in Carroll; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grand-children; a stepbrother and his wife, Steven and Dorothy Ukasick of Lakefield, Minn.; and a sister-in-law, Mabel Ukasick of Lakefield.

She was preceded in death by a son, James; two daughters-in-law, Marjorie and Mary Jo Gunderson; five brothers, Joseph, John, Andrew, Rudolph and Mike Ukasick; a sister, Agnes Roslansky; and a stepsister, Sophia Von Behren.
