Funeral Services For Mrs. Russell Monday Afternoon
Funeral services for Mrs. Hester Russell were held from the Christian Church Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Farber & Otteman Funeral Home was in charge with Rev. Thomas Slavens officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Slavens with Mrs. L.E. Havens as the accompanist.
In charge of the beautiful flowers were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Grohe, Mrs. Gladys Schnirring, Mrs. Charles Bryant and Leonards. Attendants were Ronald Wilson, Charles Bryant, Thomas Huster, Robert Russell, Edward Rogers and George Irwin. Burial was made in Oakland Cemetery, Sac City.
The following obituary was read at the service.
Mrs. Hester Russell was born June 28, 1891 in Kentucky and died at Loring Hospital February 18, 1954.
She grew to womanhood in Washington County, Arkansas.
In 1916, she and Everett Russell were married and came to Sac County where they farmed in the southern part of the county until they moved to Sac City.
Mrs. Russell is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Lawrence Larson, Eagle Grove; Mrs. George Hartley, Battle Creek; Mrs. Merle Siebrecht, Odebolt; Mrs. Everett McBride, Springfield, Illinois; Mrs. Melvin Kruskop, Lytton; Dean, Sac City, Floyd, Newton; Earnest, Santa Monica, California; nine grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
A Memorial Fund in memory of Mrs. Russell has been established by her nieces and nephews.
Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Frederick and Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery Frederick of Fayetteville, Ark.; Mrs. Newt Frederick of Wichita, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Russell of Prairie Grove, Ark.; Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Russell of Kansas City, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Russell of Worthington, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Russell of Columbia, Mo.; as well as relatives from Sac City, Albert City, Storm Lake, Newell and Lake View.
