Auburn Enterprise, January 12, 1956:

Funeral services were held for Mrs. A. E. Morenz at 2pm, Friday, January 6, at Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. L. S. Winter was in charge of the service. Mrs. Detrich Meyer presided at the organ. The choir sang. Casketbearers, all cousins of Mrs. Morenz, were James Hensel, Frank Breckenfelder, Jr., Lorne & Eugene Schroeder, Anton Hardyk and Jack Hensel. Burial was in the Luckow cemetery. Memorial funds at present total $455.

Mrs. Albert E. Morenz, 45, of Auburn passed away at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll at 4:55 Wednesday morning, January 4. Mrs. Morenz, the former Elma Helene Baumgartel, became ill Tuesday afternoon. She was stricken with a stroke and was taken to St. Anthony Hospital at once.

Mrs. Morenz, daughter of the late Henry E. Baumgartel and Clara Hensel, was born September 19, 1910 on the parental home south of Auburn and lived there almost her entire life. On February 10, 1935, she was united in marriage to Albert E. Morenz at Ulmer, Iowa. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband and nine children, Dwight, who was inducted into the marines, Judith, Delbert, Gertrude, Joel, James, Gene and the twins, Donna and Diane. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Harold (Marie) Hitzeman of Lena, Illinois, one brother, Rev. C.A. Baumgartel, Hamburg, Wisconsin. One brother, William, and her father and mother preceded her in death.
