OBITUARY
John Ingles MORRISON, son of J.B. and Amanda MORRISON, was born in Sangamon county, near Springfield, Ill., May 22, 1862, and moved to a farm near Tingley, with his mother, brothers and sisters, at the age of 14 where he grew to manhood. On April 2nd, 1889, he was married at Mt. Ayr to Miss Nettie SCOTT. To this union were born two children, Claude Emery and a daughter, who died in infancy. His wife died in 1892. On Feb. 22, 1894, he was married to Miss Hannah CLOUGH of Union Co., Iowa, and resided on a farm near Tingley. About three years ago his health failed and last September he went to California to spend the winter. He passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Nancy ATWOOD, March 4, 1920, at the age of 57 years, 9 months and 12 days. His parents preceded him in death, also his brother Henry and sisters Angie, Martha INGLES, and Nellie RUSSELL. Those left to mourn his loss are five sisters, Mesdames C.E. BERRY of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Henry BRECKENRIDGE of Tingley, John ATWOOD of Upland, Calif.; Frank PRESTON of Pasedena, Calif.; C.D. MILLIGAN of Mt Ayr, and one brother William of Orange, Calif.; his wife and children, Claude of Archie, Mo., Herschel, Virgil, Clarence, Amy and Millard; three grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He was a member of the Baptist church in his younger days. About twenty years ago he united with the Methodist church. The closing remarks of a letter written to the family dated March 2nd were: "God bless you. Try to go to church and live better than we have is my prayer". He was a kind, loving and affectionate father and husband. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Tingley M.E. church by Rev. J.A. BRANSON, interment being made in the Tingley Cemetery.
