OBITUARY ~ WILLIAM L. JOHNSTON
William L. JOHNSTON of Pauldin, Arizona, passed away January 16, 1999 at the VA Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona. William was was born on February 21, 1939 in Leon, Iowa to Robert and Floretta (FOLTZ) JOHNSTON.
William had been an equestrian horse trainer and had moved to Arizona twenty-six years ago from Nebraska.
He was a member of the First Chrsitian Church, Horseman's Benevolant Protective Association and the D.A.V. William served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He had trained horses at Turf Paradise in Phoenix, Arizona and Prescott Downs in Prescott, Arizona.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Donna JOHNSTON of Pauldin, Arizona; two daughters, Stephanie JOHNSTON and Sandra JOHNSTON, both of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two grandchildren; a brother, Andy JOHNSTON of Mesa, Arizona; and two sisters, Suzi WEAVER of Mesa, Arizona and Dianne HILL of Sonora, California.
Private memorial services were held Monday, January 18 at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Mesa, Arizona.
