OBITUARY ~ GLADYS E. (WATTS) HARSH

Gladys E. HARSH, age 94 of Moravia, Iowa died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Golden Age Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Centerville. Gladys was born on February 9, 1916, the youngest daughter of Matt and Hattie (BOYER) WATTS in Diagonal, Iowa. She attended grade school at Walnut Valley and High School at Mount Ayr.

At age 14, Gladys accepted Christ as her savior and joined the Baptist Church in Mt. Ayr. She married Ora Ivan HARSH on December 12, 1933. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1990.

Gladys was a member of the Garden Club, Taylor Aide, and State Line C.B. Club. She received a 5000 hour pin for volunteering services at Mercy Hospital, a 50 year pin from Rebekah Lodge, and many awards from the State, Vista, and SIEDA.

She helped with the Moravia Fall Festival for 21 years, 4-H, and Band Mother President while her kids were in school.

Gladys enjoyed cooking, fishing, and making quilts.

Gladys is survived by her children, Robert (Janet) HARSH of St. Louis, Missouri, and Betty (L. E.) JORDAN of Polo, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Pauletta HARSH of Owosso, Michigan; six grandchildren.

Lange Funeral Home of Centerville was in charge of arrangements.
