OBITUARY ~ DOYLE D. AUSTIN, 52

Services for Doyle D. AUSTIN, 52 of Missouri Valley, Iowa who died December 26, 1993 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 29 at First Presbyterian Church in Missouri Valley. Rev. Renee MACKEY will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Garden in Missouri Valley.

Visitation will be from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Hennessey-VanCleave-Hurley Funeral Home in Missouri Valley.

Doyle D. AUSTIN was born October 13, 1941 in Ringold County, Iowa to Glenn and Maggie SCAMMAHORN AUSTIN. He attended elementary school at Redding, Iowa and high school in Mt. Ayr, Iowa.

He graduated from Iowa Barber School in 1961 and served his barber apprenticeship at Creston. In 1963 he purchased a barber shop in Missouri Valley.

From 1966 to 1971 he was in the Army Reserves with the 915th Transportation Company of Council Bluffs. He worked for John Deere Company in Omaha for 15 years before the plant moved to Kansas City.

He retired earlier this year from barbering in Blair, Nebraska.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Woodman of the World Lodge No. 635 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He married Virginia JACKSON June 4, 1961 at Redding.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; a daughter, Deanna; sons, Doug and Darren, all of Missouri Valley; his parents, Glenn and Maggie AUSTIN of Mt. Ayr; a sister, Yvonne GALLOWAY of Villisca; brothers, Bill of Columbus Junction and Marvin of Wapello; his mother-in-law, Hazel JACKSON of Grant City, Missouri and nieces and nephews.

Casket bearers will be Jeff AUSTIN, Ken AUSTIN, Mark GALLOWAY, Jon AUSTIN, Bob GALLOWAY and Mike GILLILAND.

Linda FRAZIER will be the organist.
