OBITUARY ~ ARTHUR STEINMAN

Arthur Francis STEINMAN, son of William Edward and Etta Jane MURPHY STEINMAN, was born August 10, 1905 in Harrison County, Missouri and departed this life November 8, 1984 in the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr, Iowa at the age of 79 years, two months and 28 days.

Most of his early life was spent in the Hatfield, Missouri area. He came to Delphos, Iowa in 1931 where he was janitor of the school and owned and operated the Blacksmith Shop. He had also worked for the Mount Ayr Community Schools as a bus mechanic for many years.

He was united in marriage to Mildred June DICKERSON in 1925. To this union was born one daughter, Mary Helen MATCHETT of St. Joseph, Missouri. On May 14, 1932 he was united in marriage to Elsie JOHNSON at Grant City, Missouri. There were no children by this marriage. She departed this life May 24, 1952. On August 21, 1953 he was united in marriage to June WOOD PINKERTON. She brought with this union two daughters.

Preceding him in death were his parents, previous wives and a sister. He is survived by his wife June of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Helen MATCHETT of St. Joseph, Misouri; two step-daughters - Mrs. Judy PICKER of Glenwood, Iowa, and Mrs. Sharon BOWEN of Benton, Iowa; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at teh Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home on Monday, November 12, 1984 at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Norman NOBLE. Interment was in the Miller Cemetery near Denver, Mo.
