Routh, Gladys Irvel Bennett -
Gladys Irvel Bennett was born August, 13. 1891, in Lincoln County,Nebraska; and died January 9, 1920. She moved with her parents to
Clearfield, Iowa, when she was three years old and grew to womanhood in this community. On April 26,1916 she was married to Addis Routh. To this union two children were born, Cecil Irving,
three years old, and Donald Lee, one year old.

She gave her heart to Christ when she was but a child and united with the Methodist Episcopal church and gave her life in willing service to her Master. Her place in the Christian influences of her home and community is left to fill, and her memory will be cherished for the Christian character she exemplified.

She leaves sorrowing today her husband Addis Routh, two sons Cecil Irving and Donald Lee; one sister Mrs. Goldsberry, of Davenport, two brothers Clarence Bennett of Kansas City, and Granville Bennett of Lenox; her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs D. I. Bennett of Clearfield; her grandmother Mrs. Ellen Bennett:
grandfather, Joseph Owens; many other relatives; and friends without number.

The funeral services were held at Clearfield Methodist church on Monday, Jan. 12, at 2 o'clock. The church was filled with the friends
and relatives of the deceased, as attested by their presence the strength of the ties that had grown up during the lifetime of her who had gone. Rev. Douglass conducted the service. The sermon was from the text. Rev.14:13. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord." Interment was in Clearfield Cemetery.
