Rife, Henry Carlton -
Henry Carlton Rife was born in Ohio, August 18, 1851. He passed his early childhood in Maryland. At the age of twelve he moved with his parents to Illinois where he grew to manhood. At the age of twenty eight years he married Olive C. DeBord. To this union were born five daughters and one son, three daughters having preceded him in death. Two daughters, one son, and his wife remain to mourn his loss.

At the age of twenty-nine he professed belief in Christ, joining the Methodist church, and remaining a faithful member of the same until his death, March 22. 1915, at Melvern, Kansas. He is also survived by two sisters and one brother.

He was buried in the Clearfield Cemetery, Wednesday, March 24th,1915.

Mr. Rife and family resided for many years previous to their removal to Kansas about 1899, on a farm one mile west of Clearfield. The older inhabitants of this community remember him well.

Mrs. Rife and one daughter, Mrs. Brown, and husband came with the body from Kansas.
