Last Thursday forenoon, W. H. Nolan, who was a resident of Clearfield several years ago, committed suicide at Sheuandoah,where he has resided ever since leaving here. It seems that he
and his wife have been having difficulty, and she applied for a divorce and was granted it at the Page County District Court Wednesday. The decree allowed her the furniture, the children
and other items, and he was to keep the house. Mrs. Nolan had rented a place in Clarinda and was packing up to move. Will went to the house, and was assisting his former wife and her sister, and finally went out in the yard, and yelled to her to
come there. She went to the door and just as she came in sight, he fired a shot at his heart. The bullet, however, hit a rib and glanced off, but he then deliberately placed it against the
back of head and pointed it toward his brain. The second shot killed him instantly.

The body was brought through Clearfield Friday on the way to Shannon City, where his parents live, and where he will be buried.
