OBITUARY ~ PAUL TRULLINGER
May 23, 1922 ~ June 12, 2011

Paul TRULLINGER, 89, of Redding, Iowa, passed away June 12, 2011 at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.

His body was cremated and a graveside memorial service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, June 18 at Middle Fork Cemetery rural Redding, Iowa. Rev. Gwen TRULLINGER is officiating the service. There will be military rites conducted by Ringgold Post #172 and the Iowa Honor Guard Unit. The family will be present at Middle Fork Cemetery on Saturday morning prior to the services. Memorials are to HCI Care Services in Mount Ayr and the Tingley Community Building Roof Fund.

Paul, son of Pearl BROWN and Washington Irving TRULLINGER, was born May 23, 1922 in Oregon. Paul served his country in the US Army from 1943 to 1946. He was a heavy equipment operator.

Paul loved country western music and Paul & Velda had many years enjoying dancing and traveling together. He had many hobbies including the gathering of Civil War information, collecting Indian arrowheads, reading, fishing and simple country pleasures filled his life with many hours of enjoyment.

Friendly and outgoing, Paul easily made friends wherever he went. Paul could make you laugh over the funniest situations and his ability as a "story teller" added joy and laughter and amusement for his children and grandchildren. He held a special place in his heart for those who were challenged mentally or physically; his generosity made life easier for many individuals.

Survivors include his children Gene TRULLINGER of Union Star, MO, Kent (Debbie) TRULLINGER of Tingley, IA, Quita (Ron) BETHARDS of Alamo, TX and Gwen TRULLINGER of Mount Ayr, IA; daughter-in-law Mary DAVENPORT of Mount Ayr; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Roxie TRULLINGER of Mount Ayr; cousin Howard TRULLINGER of Eagleville, MO; and special friend Velda SMITH of Stanberry, MO. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves a host of friends, nieces and nephews and many others to mourn his passing, to celebrate his life, and cherish the memories.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Roger TRULLINGER; brothers John, Doyle and Harold TRULLINGER; sisters Mona SOVEREIGN, Zola TULL and Gladys BONJOUR.

A memorial fund has been established to HCI Care Services in Mount Ayr and the Tingley Community Building Roof Fund.
