Hoffman, Charles F. -
Charles F. Hoffman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hoffman, was born Oct. 17, 1871 near Evans City, Pa., the eldest son in a family of ten children and departed this life Oct. 7 at Washington, la., following an illness of four months.

Rev. Hoffman, after attending public school, entered college, graduating from Westminister in 1899, and finished at the Alleghaney Seminary in 1903, and was then ordained to the ministry
of the gospel.

Following his trip to Utah in the interest of Home Missions he located at Jamestown, Kan., where he was married. Rev. and Mrs. Hoffman have served several congregations: Brookings,S. D.; Keota la., Emporia, La Crosse and Saxman, Kan., and his last pastorate in Clearfield, retiring in 1953. Rev. Hoffman is held in memory not only by his congregation, but by citizens where he lived.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; one daughter Marian Wiggins, Sierra Madre, Calif., and one son, Paul Hoffman, of Kansas City, Mo., and three granddaughters, four brothers,Edward, Harry, William and Adam and one sister of Pennsylvania.

Funeral services were held Friday at the United Presbyterian church. Interment in Clearfield cemetery. The Rev. C. E. Hawthorne conducted the services.
