Hepperly, John Wesley –
John Wesley Hepperly, son of Thomas and Salina Hepperly, was born July 2, 1870 near Lincoln, Ill., and died October 14, 1942 at his home in Clearfield, at the age of 72 years, three months and 12 days.
In 1867 the family moved to Ringgold county, Iowa and here Mr. Hepperly attended the rural school and grew to manhood.

On November 27, 1894 he was married to Anna Larson. They established their home in Lincoln township, Ringgold county. Five children were born to them: Three sons, Roland, Harlan and an infant son preceded their father in death; one daughter, Verna Muir of San Francisco, and a son Jodie Hepperly of Clearfield. Mrs. Hepperly died September 5, 1921 at their home northeast of Clearfield.

He was again married to Mrs. Elva Rhodes August 23, 1922. Surviving are his wife, daughter and son and two grandchildren, two brothers and a sister of Vancouver, Wash.

Funeral services were from the Clearfield Christian Church on Sunday, October 18. Burial was in the Clearfield cemetery.
