1917 ~ 2011Ruth BAIER, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2011 at The Village at Legacy Pointe in Waukee. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at McLaren's Chapel with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
Ruth was born in Colorado Springs, CO and grew up in Kellerton, Iowa. She married Raymond J. BAIER in 1934 and lived most of her life in the Des Moines area. Ruth retired after 25 years with the downtown Younkers store.
Ruth enjoyed crocheting and working on crafts, especially doll making. She had a great wit and was loved by all who knew her. Her greatest love was the love for her family.
Ruth is survived by three sons, John (Jan) of Clive, Edward (Veda) of Overland Park, KS and David (Darlene) of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary RELEFORD of Raytown, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service at McLaren's Chapel. Memorials may be directed to Iowa Hospice.
