OBITUARY - ZELMA MAE (ROBERTS) WOOLLUMS
May 12, 1911 ~ February 18, 2011Zelma Mae WOOLLUMS was born May 12th, 1911 on a farm south of Ellston, Iowa to Oscar and Nettie (STEPHENS) ROBERTS and passed away February 18th, 2011 at the age of 99 years at the Mount Ayr Health Care Center. Zelma was the third of four children and her siblings were Ella, Lee, and Leena.
Zelma attended country schools and graduated in 1928 from Ellston High School. After high school, she worked for a couple of years at the telephone office in Kellerton, Iowa. She also cooked at the Ringgold County Hospital.
On December 10th, 1930, she married Clair WOOLLUMS and to this union three children were born; Marvin, Arvid, and Cheryl (Cherri). They were married for 60 years.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved when her family was there. She was a wonderful cook. Her hobbies were sewing and crocheting. She loved getting her hair done and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clair; sons Marvin and Arvid; daughter-in-law Freida; son-in-law Terry HAINLINE; sisters Ella (Mark) BEEDE, Leena (Paul) CLARK; brother Lee (Dorothy) ROBERTS; sister-in-law June (John) SAVILLE.
She is survived by her daughter Cherri HAINLINE; grandchildren David, Brian (Emily), Marla, Greg, Kelly (Cindy), Jodi, and Kelli; two foster grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established in her name to be decided later.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home of Mount Ayr, Iowa. Interment was made at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Iowa.
