OBITUARY - CAROLYN V. (WELLS) GREENMAN
May 28, 1933 - August 30, 2010

Carolyn V. GREENMAN, daughter of George and Iva Marie WELLS, was born on May 28, 1933 in Harrison County, Missouri. She passed away on August 30, 2010 at Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines, Iowa.

Carolyn graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1951. She attended Graceland College and then earned her R.N., from the Independence Sanitarium in Independence, Missouri in 1955.

On May 20, 1956 Carolyn married C. Carlton GREENMAN. They lived briefly in San Diego, CA. while he finished his military service, and then returned to Iowa. They lived in West Des Moines, Iowa for many years, and Carolyn worked at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Carolyn was a member of the Community of Christ Church in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 54 years, Carlton; daughters Pamela DAHL and husband Harry of West Des Moines, Iowa and Debra ALBRIGHT and husband Jay of Clive, Iowa; grandchildren Katherine, Melissa and Christian DAHL; sister Sue JACKSON and husband Sidney of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; sisters-in-law Edna GIBSON of Madrid, Iowa and Lou GREENMAN of St. Charles, Iowa; aunt Edith JAMES of Mesquite, Texas; cousins, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is also survived by her step-sisters Betty (Harley) MARTENS of Adrian, Missouri and Harriett PIATT of Independence, Mo. and their families.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, George Wells, her mother Iva Marie (SHARP) WELLS PIATT and her step-father Harry PIATT.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday September 4, at the Community of Christ Church at 4504 Ashworth Road in West Des Moines, Iowa. Graveside services will follow at 2:00pm Saturday in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr, Iowa. Arrangements by Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home of Mount Ayr.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa (Kavanagh House) or the Communities of Christ Church.
