OBITUARY - CRYSTAL (HUGHES) EWING

Crystal EWING, 93, of Bonaparte, died at 5:07 a.m. Sunday, June 18, 2000, at Good Samaritan Home in Keosauqua.

Born January 27, 1907, in Waterson, she was the daughter of Frank and Bertha (HUBBARD) HUGHES. On June 12, 1929, she married James O. EWING in Grundy Center. He died Sept. 22, 1992.

Mrs. EWING was a teacher. She was a resident of Bonaparte for 70 years.

She was a member of PEO, TTT Society of Bonaparte, Bonaparte Historical Society and OES of Bonaparte.

She is survived by one cousin and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, June 21 at Bonaparte United Church with Reverend Ellis ANDREWS officiating.

A memorial has been established for the Bonaparte First Responders and contributions may be left at Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington.
