OBITUARY - HARRY "JACK" BUELL

Harry "Jack" BUELL, son of William and Elva BUELL, was born September 21, 1921 at Mount Ayr, Iowa. He departed this life on January 24, 1990, at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was 68 years of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two son, Craig and Gary Lee BUELL; two sisters, Eva BUELL and LaVonne SPENCER.

He leaves to mourn, his wife of 50 years, Maxine; daughter, Jacque and husband Dick SMITH, and their two children, daughter Shelley and son Mark; daughter-in-law, Jeannette BUELL and her children, Rick and wife Maria and their children, Dusty and Heather, Cliff, and Janelle and her husband, Mark COLEMAN; sister, Lelia SMITH of Mount Ayr; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

He spent his boyhood in Ringgold County. He married Maxine HUFFMAN on November 3, 1939. He joined the Army in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1946. They lived for a time in Portland, Oregon. They returned to Iowa to live where Jack was a retired truck driver and tavern owner. He was a member of the American Legion, Mount Ayr Chapter.

He loved to travel, fish and visit with friends. He enjoyed life and his family, and will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services were held January 27, 1990, from the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa, conducted by Rev. Eydie STEPHENS. Music was provided by Mike GREEN, organist.

Casketbearers were Mark SMITH, Rick BUELL, Cliff BUELL, Bill SMITH, ROnnie SMITH and Donnie SMITH. Honorary pall bearers were Al HENRICHS, A. J. KESSLER, Curtis STRINGHAM and Donald STRINGHAM.

Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr, Iowa. Military graveside rites were conducted by Ringgold Post #172, American Legion.
