August, 1989OBITUARY - AUDREY KATHLEEN (FRUENDT) BLUNCK
Audrey Kathleen BLUNCK, 39, of Indianola, Iowa, died Saturday, August 19, 1989, at the University Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born August 8, 1950 at Marengo, Iowa, the daughter of Otto W. and Luella MEYER FRUENDT, now of Victor, Iowa.
She attended school at St. John's Lutheran School in Victor, and was a 1968 grduate of HLV Community Schools and a 1969 grduate of American Institute of Business in Des Moines.
On October 28, 1973 she married Donald E. BLUNCK at St. John's Lutheran Church, a country church south of Victor. They made their home in the Norwalk and Indianola areas where she was employed as a secretary, most recently at Midwest Uncuts, Inc.
Mrs. BLUNCK had been a member of the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Indianola where she was in church activities -- choir, and as a teacher in Sunday School and Daily Vacation Bible School. She was a co-leader of the Indianola Girl Scouts and also assisted with Boy Scout activities.
She is survived by her parents; her husband, Donald; a son, Christopher, 10; a daughter, Valerie, 9; a brother, David FRUENDT of Iowa City; and two sisters, Jo Ann KETTERLING of Norwalk and Marlene READ of Victor.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 23, 1989 at St. John's Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. Nathan P. RASTL of St. John's and Rev. Timothy J. SCHARR of Mount Calvary. Organist was Marna MOHR.
Casketbearers were her nephews -- Billie BLUNCK of Benton, Craig FRUENDT of Iowa City, Jim REES of Clinton, Andy SICKELS of Kellerton, Eric SNEDEKER of Norwalk and Jon TRULLINGER of Muscatine. The three honorary pallbearers were Jason FRUENDT of Iowa City and Aaron and Tony SICKELS of Kellerton. The flower committee was Wayne and Mary Anne MEYER of Ladora and Walter and Vernice FRUENDT of Cedar Rapids.
Burial was in St. John's Church Cemetery. A memorial fund was established in BLUNCK'S name.
