OBITUARY - BIRDIE F. (BARTON) BILLETT
Birdie BILLETT, daughter of Frank and Laura BARTON, was born July 11, 1897 in Woodburn, Iowa. She passed away November 6, 1987 at her home in Norwalk, Iowa, at the age of 90.

Birdie was baptized in a pond at Ottowa, Iowa, with the United Brethren Church. She later transferred her membership to the Christian Church in Kellerton, Iowa.

On December 17, 1919, Birdie was united in marriage with Worthie BILLETT. To this union one daughter, Shirley, was born.

Birdie was a farm lady who dearly loved her garden, flowers,and handwork. She spent most of her life on a farm south of Kellerton. On December 1, 1973 she and Worthie moved to Norwalk to be near their daughter, Shirley.

Birdie was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and one sister.

Survivors include: her daughter, Shirley, and her husband, Wayne RICHARDSON; three grandchildren, Mike and his wife Dianna RICHARDSON; Debbie and her husband, Frank CURTIS and Mark and his wife, Kristy RICHARDSON. Birdie is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: Amy and Doug RICHARDSON, Stacy and Todd CURTIS and Jennifer, Joseph and Jeffrey RICHARDSON.

Birdie was a very special grandmother to each one of her great-grandchildren. She was always ready to babysit and help out in any way that she could. Biridie enjoyed her grandchildren very much. She was known as grandma to everyone in Norwalk.

Funeral services were held November 9, 1987, from the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa, conducted by Rev. Cela FUGATE. Organist was Mrs. Weldon MEADOWS

Casketbearers were Bob BARTON, Don PARSONS, George BARTON, Lyman ELSWICK, Bob MENDENHALL and Richard CHRISTIANSON. Burial was in the Maple Row Cemetery at Kellerton, Iowa.
