OBITUARY - CLARA MABEL (BROWN) BECK

Clara Mabel BECK, daughter of Robert Augustus and Martha Jane CROY BROWN, was born June 23, 1904 in Maloy, Iowa, and departed this life on November 27, 1989, at the Afton Care Center. She had reached the aged of 85 years, five months and four days.

Clara was united in marriage to Elza BECK and he preceded her in death on March 29, 1966.

Clara was a nurse's aid and worked for many years at Sunnyslope Nursing Home and later the Mount Ayr Heath Care Center.

She was a lifetime resident of the Mount Ayr community before moving into the Afton Care Center in 1979.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents; husband Elza; brothers, Francis, James and Raymond "Sport" BROWN, and her sisters, Anna MARTIN, Bertha SMITH, Viola JOHNSTON and Gladys BRINK.

She is survived by her sister Mary (Mrs. Dwight) STEPHENS of Martensdale, Iowa; nieces; nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held November 30, 1989, from the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa, conducted by Fr. Gerald STESSMAN. Music was provided by Mike GREENE, Mrs. Jim JONES and Mrs. Robert FISHER.

Casketbearers were Joe GROSS, John COOK, Ora FLOWERS, James FLOWERS, Dale SCHLAPIA and Aubrey KIRKPATRICK. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr, Iowa.
