OBITUARY - ETHEL VIRGINIA (SCOTT) BAGLEY

Ethel Virginia BAGLEY, daughter of James E. and Emma Virginia SCOTT, was born in Worth County, Missouri, April 21, 1895, and departed this life April 2, 1987 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

She grew up in Worth County and married Harley E. BAGLEY on December 25, 1910. Mr. BAGLEY preceded her in death in 1945. To this union were born three children, Marcene and Warren, both dying at birth and the surviving son, Leslie Raymond BAGLEY.

She was employed a different restuarants in Mount Ayr, where she lived most of her life.

She enjoyed planting and caring for her flowers and entertaining and serving her many friends in her home. She was a member of the Mount Ayr Christian church and was faithful to God throughout her long and useful life.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Leslie Raymond and his wife Charlotte; three grandsons: David of Vail, Colorado, Douglas of Homestead, Florida, and Michael of Iowa City; and one granddaughter, Kathleen of Des Moines; also various nieces and nephews, one of whom is Guy BAGLEY. He and his wife Bernice, were instrumental in caring for her in her later years; also, many great-nieces and great-nephws and a host of friends.

The flight of years began, have land them down in their last sleep, like one who wraps the drapery of their couch about them, and lies down to pleasant dreams.

Funeral services were held April 6, 1987 from the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home at Mount Ayr, Iowa, conducted by Rev. Doris KINTON. Music was provided by Mike GREENE, Mrs. Gary BICKERS and Mrs. Roger TRULLINGER.

Casketbearers were Ike LYDDON, Dick YASHACK, David BAGLEY, Ed SHIELDS, Richard PENCE and Michael BAGLEY.

Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr, Iowa.
