OBITUARY - MAE LUCILLE BONNOT

Mae Lucille BONNOT, 90, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2010.

A remembrance celebration will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, January 18, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1961 Old Windthorst Road, Pastor, Bro. Danny HODGKINS officiating.

Mae was born January 24, 1919,in Mt. Ayr, Iowa, to Cecil N. and Neva (FERBER) SALTZMAN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene C. BONNOT, Sr.; sister, Mary SALTZMAN; and brother, Nicholas L. SALTZMAN.

During WWII Mae heeded the call for women to work in men's jobs and was a true "Rosie the Rivetor" at Stuart and Warner in Chicago. She also helped build Liberty Ships for the war effort as a welder. She was called in at many times to be lead person of her shift and other shifts.

Mae moved to Wichita Falls in 1970 and helped part time in the WFISD Cateria's System. When she was no longer able physically to serve she found she could phone people about monthly meetings of the various groups she was a member of and did so for 15 years.

She was a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League Aux.; an Honorary Member of the Forty and Eight and the Wichita Falls Jaycees.

Mae left behind many devoted friends and neighbors and is survived by a daughter, Fern TEMELCOFF; sons, Cecil E. BONNOT, Eugene (Gene) BONNOT and spouse Sandra; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
