OBITUARY
Lymand Edward WILSON, son of George W. & Mary Ella (WILLIS) WILSON, was born October 31, 1883, in Pleasant Township [Union County, Iowa]. He passed away at Ringgold County Hospital at Mount Ayr, Iowa, January 31, 1973, at the age of 89 years and 3 months.
He was united in marriage to Clara Adela EDWARDS on January 9, 1918, at Forsyth, Montana, who passed away November 6, 1918, in Sumatra, Montana.
He returned to a farm in Iowa in 1920. He married Florence GUNN COLLETT on October 20, 1937 at Afton, Iowa. Lyman farmed until 1946. He was a janitor at the Arispe School from 1947 to 1951. He retired in 1958. Lyman served as Arispe town clerk for many years and was active in community and church work.
He is survived by his wife, Florence, two step-daughters, Mrs. Ruth ROARK of Mozella, KY., and Mrs. Nancy HARTLEY of Riverside, Calif., five step grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren. His is also survived by his sister, Mrs. Stella STRADLEY of Afton, Iowa, two brothers, Harry WILSON of Arispe and Clarence WILSON of Kingsburg, Calif.; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was precedeed in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, four half-sisters and three half-brothers.
Funeral serices were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 3, at the Arispe United Methodist Church, with burial in Oakland Cemetery at Shannon City, with the Rev. Franklin SCHWARM officiating. The Stroud Funeral Home was in charge of services.
