OBITUARY - MRS. MARTHA VIOLETTE SCOTHORN.

Martha Violette ROBBINS was born at Hamden Junction, Ohio, December 3, 1854, and departed this life at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Frank SCOTHORN, west of Beaconsfield, Iowa, in the evening of June 30, 1929, age 74 years, six months and 27 days.

She was married to Geo. W. SCOTHORN December 19, 1875. To this union three children were born: Lloyd, May and Frank. May and Frank have preceded their mother to the other world.

Mrs. SCOTHORN, with her three little children and her father's family, left Ohio and settled near Clearfield, Iowa, in January, 1888. A number of years later she brought her children and located on what is now the KEPPLE place, west of Beaconsfield, where she live until her son Frank was married, when she came to live with them on the place just south of where she had formerly live.

She was a faithful member of the Beaconsfield Methodist church for many years.

Mrs. SCOTHORN is survived by one son, Lloyd, of Jetmore, Kansas; her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Frank SCOTHORN, with whom she made her home for over 27 years; also by six grandchildren; also by two brothers, Chas. ROBBINS of Grand River, Iowa, and Fremont ROBBINS, of Hamden, Ohio, besides a great host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. SCOTHORN was always ready to help along where she could, and when her daughter's little children were left motherless she was ready to be mother to them as long as needed.

The funeral service was held in the Beaconsfield Methodist church July 2, with Rev. SOELBERG in charge. Burial was in the Oliver cemetery west of Beaconsfield.

Card of Thanks.

We take this means of expressing to our neighbors and friends our sincere and heart-felt thanks for the kindness which found expression in helpful acts and sympathy generously bestowed during the illness and on the occasion of the death and funeral.--Mrs. Frank SCOTHORN, Floyd SCOTHORN and relatives.
