OBITUARY - RANDALL EUGENE "RANDY" SCHAEFER

Randall Eugene SCHAEFER was born to Robert and Betty (CARSON) SCHAEFER on October 7, 1947 in Creston, Iowa. He departed this life on September 12, 2008 in Knoxville, Iowa at the age of 60.

Randy graduated from the Diagonal High School with the class of 1966 and soon after joined the U.S. Army serving for a time in Germany.

He was a member of the United Church of Diagonal.

Randy enjoyed growing up on the farm and always had a special fondness for animals, especially horses. He liked being outside, watching TV, anything from westerns to football, and he enjoyed the friendships he had made at the care center.

Randy is survived by his father, Bob SCHAEFER and one sister, Caryl Ann and her husband Brian FINE and their family, Clint FINE, Rachel HONEY and her husband Trent and sons, Cpl Ryan FINE and his wife Sara and daughters; along with a host of family and friends and his extended family at the Knoxville Residential Care Facility where he had resided for over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty in 2002.

Memorials are to the Knowlton Cemetery.
