OBITUARY - ANNA M. (MANGUS) SANDERS

1925 - 2005

Anna M. SANDERS, 80, died April 19 [2005] at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe [KS]. She was born February 15, 1925, in Kanorado [KS], the daughter of Luther L. Sr. and Elsie Mae (AURNER) MANGUS. She married Robert W. SANDERS on October 10, 1941, at Russell. He died in 1991. She was a lifetime Great Bend area resident and a homemaker. She was also a former Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader.

Survivors include three sons, Robert L. SANDERS and William W. SANDERS, both of Great Bend, and Ralph M. SANDERS of Bison; one daughter, Gloria J. TOWNER of Paola; two brothers, Luther L. MANGUS, Jr. of Aurora, Colo., and Charles L. MANGUS of Commerce City, Colo.; two sisters, Barbara MASON of Tucson, Ariz., and Virginia L. PAYTON of Kellerton, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded death by one son, Luther L. SANDERS; one daughter, Margaret E. SMITH; three brothers, Alva Dale MANGUS, Harold Lee MANGUS and Jay W. MANGUS; and one sister, Gwendolyn REDDING.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home, with the Rev. Don PADEN officiating. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend. Visitation will be Thursday from 1-9 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Barton County Relay For Life or American Diabetes Association or American Lung Association.
