OBITUARY.

Nicholas SALTZMAN, son of Nicholas Jr. and Anna SALTZMAN, died February 27, 1889. He was born in Poe township, this county, November 3rd, 1866, being at the time of his death twenty-two years, three months, and twenty-four days of age.

Nicholas was a faithful and obedient son, and from what we could gather had become a favorite of the family. We heard many of the neighbors say, "Nicholas was a noble young man," "Nicholas could always be depended upon." Such remarks gave us to understand that he was held in high esteem by his friends. A large concourse of people went to pay their last tributes of respect to his mortal remains. The writer preached a funeral sermon from Dan. 12:2. Bro. MARTINDALE and some others from Mt. Ayr were present and conducted the singing. The family have the sympathy of relatives and friends in their bereavment. It is hard to part, but we hope it will not be forever.

NOTE: Nicholas SALTZMAN, Jr. was born July 24, 1828, and died May 25, 1911. Anna (EGLY) SALTZMAN was born August 6. 1839, and died February 24, 1910. They and their son Nicholas were interred at the Oakland (a.k.a. Saltzman) cemetery.
