OBITUARY - MRS. LOUISA SACKETT.

Louisa SACKETT, widow of A[lfred]. M. SACKETT, passed away August 2, 1923, aged seventy-three years, one month and nineteen days. Her maiden name was DEAR, daughter of Thomas and Mary DEAR. She was born in Ohio [June of 1850] and moved with her parents in an early day to Marion county, Iowa, where she was married to A. M. SACKETT, living in Henry county, moving to Ringgold county thirty-seven years ago, living on a farm in Lotts Creek township. After the death of her husband eighteen years ago she continued her residence on the farm until 1905, when she moved to Mount Ayr, where she has since made her home. She leaves four children - Mrs. Ella KINDBLADE of Leon, Iowa; Mrs. May JAGGER of Des Moines, and two sons, Lester and Alfred, who live near Mount Ayr. The children were all near and visited her often and cared for her during her illness which dates from the first of March. She also leaves nine grandchildren, a brother, Spencer DEAR, of Dallas, Iowa, and two sisters who live in Kansas.

She was a member of the Methodist church from where the funeral services were conducted by Rev. Jay KIRKENDALL, her minister [with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr]. She was true to her faith to the last, expressing her desire to go to her Father's home where death and parting will be no more. In her death the children mourn the loss of a loving mother, who has done much for them during her life. She was devoted to her home and children.
