OBITUARY - CLYDE RAYMOND SALTZMAN.

Clyde Raymond SALTZMAN was born in Ringgold county, Iowa, August 29, 1894. His life was spent on his father's farm, where he was born. On March 3, 1923, he finished his early course and went to meet his maker. In 1921 he suffered an attack of the measles and from that time on endured a greater or lesser degree of ill health. For a number of months it was evident to his family that he was gradually growing weaker andhis death wasnot unlooked for. In spite of the loving care on the part of his family, and the ministrations of expert physicians nothing could be done to stay the disease.

He became a chrisitan in 1908 and united with the Oakland Baptist church. From the very beginning of his christian experience he devoted himself with unusual fidelity to the work of his church. As a christian he not only won the respect of his friends and neighbors, but was honored by them in being placed in various positions of responsiblity in the church and Sunday school.

In his removal to the better land he joins his sister, Mrs. Earl ANDERSON, who preceded him in April, 1921, and leaves behind his father and mother, Mrs. and Mrs. Simon SALTZMAN, and his two brothers, Cecil and Andrew, all of whom live in Ringgold county. In addition to his immediate family many other relatives and friends mourn his departure.

The funeral service was held at the Oakland Baptist church on March 5, and was conducted by Rev. R. W. SETTLE. The burial was at the Oakland [a.k.a. Saltzman] cemetery.

"sometime, when all life's lessons have been learned,
And sun and stars forevermore had set
The things which our weak judgements here have spurned,
The things o'er which we grieved with lashes wet,
Will flash before us out of life's dark night
As stars shine most in deepest tints of blue,
And we shall see how all God's ways are right,
And how what seemed reproof was love most true."

Card of Thanks.

Our friends and neighbors were very kind and helpful to us during our recent bereavement and we desire in this way to thank them, one and all.

MR. AND MRS. SIMON SALTZMAN.
