OBITUARY - PAULINE L. (YOUNG) BAKER

Pauline L. BAKER, 84, of Afton died June 18, 2004, at Greater Community Hospital in Creston.

Services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday June 21, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The Rev. Leonard KENKEL officiated the service. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery [Union County, Iowa].

Coen-Beaty-Pearson Family Funeral Services, 809 Montgomery St. of Creston had charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established in her name.

Mrs. BAKER, daughter of Bertha Louise (SCHULL) and Warren Vincent YOUNG, was born January 7, 1920 at Prescott. She graduated from Creston High School in 1938. On November 22, 1939, she married Benno Beede BAKER. They lived on a farm near Tingley for nearly fifty years. She was a homemaker. After the death of her husband June 15, 1992, she moved to Afton. She was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Afton and the Altar Society.

Survivors include five children, Richard (wife Betty) BAKER and Robert (wife Connie) BAKER, all of Creston; Mark (wife Janelle) BAKER of Diagonal; Barbara Louise TRISLER of Afton; and Virginia (husband Lynn) BERRY of DeSoto; brother Joe (wife Josephine) YOUNG of Berlin, N.J.; sister-in-law Doris YOUNG of Creston; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Frank YOUNG; two sisters, Zelma BENDER and Gertrude DORY; and granddaughter, Julie Ann BAKER in 1971.

OBITUARY ~ PAULINE L. BAKER

Pauline L. BAKER, age 84, of Afton, Iowa died Friday, June 18, 2004 at Greater Community Hospital in Creston, Iowa.

She was born January 7, 1920 in Prescott, Iowa, the daughter of Bertha Louise SCHULL and Warren Vincent YOUNG. She graduated from Creston High School in 1938.

On November 22, 1939, she was married to Benno Beede BAKER. Pauline was a homemaker and housewife. She lived on a farm near Tingley, Iowa for nearly 50 years and moved to Afton in 1992 after the death of her husband.

She was a member of Saint Edwards Catholic Church in Afton and the Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1992; granddaughter Julie Ann BAKER in 1971; brother Frank YOUNG; and two sisters, Zelma BENDER and Gertrude DORY.

Survivors include sons, Richard and wife Betty BAKER and Robert and wife Connie BAKER, all of Creston, and Mark and wife Janelle BAKER of Diagonal; daughters, Barbara Louise TRISLER of Afton and Virginia and husband Lynn BERRY of DeSoto, Iowa; brothers Joe and wife Josephine YOUNG of Berlin, NJ; sister-in-law Doris YOUNG of Creston; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2004 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston with Father Leonard KENKEL officiating. Interment was in the Calvary Cemetery, Creston.

Memorials may be made in Pauline's name.

Coen-Beaty-Pearson Family Funeral Service in Creston was in charge of the arrangements.
