OBITUARY - CLARENCE E. WILSON

Clarence E. WILSON, 94, of Mount Ayr died February 18, 2006, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Susan THOMAS and the Rev. Edward SHIELDS will officiate the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr. Open visitation will be after 10 a.m. today with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Mount Ayr United Methodist Church or Hospice of Central Iowa.

Mr. WILSON, son of Unna Grace (CASE) and George WILSON, was born February 3. 1912, in Ringgold County. On February 1, 1933, he married Belle Elizabeth HENSLEY in Grant City, Mo. He was a farmer, and member of Mount Ayr United Methodist Church and Ringgold County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis (husband David) HILL of Wichita, Kan.; three sons, Daryl (wife Joanna) WILSON of Santa Fe, Texas, Richard (wife Kathryn) WILSON of Lenox and Galen (wife Judy) WILSON of Altoona; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; companion Vera WILKINS; and three sisters-in-law, Naomi WILSON of Des Moines, Mary Jane DENNEY of Mount Ayr and Nadine HENSLEY of Albany, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son David Lynn WILSON; daughter Karen Louise WILSON; granddaughter Sue Jo WILSON; grandson Jeffery WILSON; brother Lawrence WILSON; two sisters, Neva COULSON and Dorothy GOODMAN; and daughter-in-law Shirley WILSON.
