OBITUARY - GAYLE MARIE (STATON) WILKINSON

Gayle Marie (STATON) WILKINSON was born May 22, 1901, to George and Ella (KOBBE) STATON near Redding, Iowa, and departed this life on January 26, 1989, at the Gentry County Memorial Hospital in Albany, Missouri, at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 4 days.

Gayle was an elementary school teacher for many years. She taught in Redding, iowa; and Center East Amity and Grant City, Mo., also 17 years at Hall School in St. Joseph, Mo. She retired in 1970. Gayle was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Allendale. Her Bridge and Pinochle clubs were great enjoyment to her.

She was married to Clifford WILKINSON and to this union two daughters were born: Vanita Ruth CLARK and Meredith Ann KERNS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, on February 5, 1960; daughter, Vanita CLARK on September 22, 1985; brother, Guy STATON; and son-in-law, Elmer KERNS.

Surviving are her daughter, Meredith KERNS, St. Joseph, Mo.; son-in-law, Vernon CLARK, Allendale, Mo.; granddaughter, Rebecca WILEY and husband Denny and great-grandsons, Jared and Brett of Stanberry and many other reltaives and friends, who will greatly miss her.

Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, January 28, 1989, at the Kirk Cemetery in Allendale, under the direction of the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home with High Priest Jerry ASHBY officiating.
