OBITUARY - LUCILLE (MALLOW) TURNER WARD

Lucille TURNER WARD, 85, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Big Spring, died October 21, 2007.

Lucille was born February 14, 1922, in Geromimo, Okla., to William C. and Clara C (SCHEU) MALLOW. She married Melvin B. TURNER August 14, 1938. They made their home in Big Spring in the 1950s and 1960s. Melvin died in May 1961.

Lucille married Charles WARD in 1966. She lived in Oklahoma City, Okla., during the 1970s, where she was a dorm mother at Oklahoma Christian University. Lucille then moved to the Council Bluffs, Iowa, area where she worked and later retired as a nurse's aide at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Council Bluffs and in Big Spring.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin TURNER; her husband, Charles WARD; her daughter, Kim Lisa WARD; brothers J. D. MALLOW and R. L. MALLOW, and her parents.

Lucille is survived by three daughters, Melva STEPHENS and husband Bill of Ellston, Iowa, Terral BECKER and husband Stanley of Nashua, N.H., and Cora Sue DYE and husband Don of Round Rock; eight grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Maudie LAYCOCK of Canyon; a brother, Elwood MALLOW and his wife Helen of Walters, Okla.; and half-brothers Hassen DOW of Hugo, Okla., and Donnie DOW and wife Pat of Witchita Falls.

Interrment will be held at Trinity Memorial Park at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007. Don DYE will be officiating.
