OBITUARY - NETTIE (JOHNSTON) WALLS

Nettie WALLS, 87, of Mount Ayr died April 19, 2004, at her granddaughter's home in Des Moines.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 23, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Charles HAWKINS will officiate the service. Burial will be in Payne Cemetery near Hatfield, Mo. Open visitation will be after 10 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Mount Ayr. A memorial has been established in her name.

Mrs. WALLS, daughter of Ethel (JOHNSON) and David JOHNSTON, was born March 4, 1917, in Hatfield, Mo. She was a farm wife.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Linda KING of Mount Ayr; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Betty WALLER and Larry KING; two brothers, Cecil and Marvin JOHNSTON; four sisters, Freda, Alice, Hazel and Rogene; and a granddaughter.
