OBITUARY - FORREST E. HICKMAN

Forrest E. Hickman Of Wilmington, DE suddenly passed away February 18, 2004.

Forrest was born in Tipton, MO on November 2, 1930, son of Everett and Beulah HICKMAN.

He was a 1951 grad-uate of Central Missouri State College. He was a member of the General Motors Retirees' Club, having worked 37 years, 32 years in the accounting department at the Boxwood Road plant. He received the General Motors Award for Excellence in Community Activities in 1978.

Forrest was an active member of Limestone Presbyterian Church since 1958 and was honored to serve his church in many capacities, most recently as Clerk of the Session.

He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America for 42 years, and served that organization in virtually every volunteer role at the unit, district, council and region levels.

He was Vigil Honor Member of Nentego Lodge #20 Order of the Arrow. He was a trainer of boys in the order and Lodge adviser.

Forrest also enjoyed the theatre. He particularly supported community theatre and served most recently as treasurer and member of the board of directors for the Chapel Street Theatre in Newark, DE, where he had been a member since 1976. Forrest possessed a servant's heart and was unselfish in his service and devotion to the welfare of others.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 52 years, Rosemary (STEWART) HICKMAN; 3 children, Sherralyn S. WILEY and her husband, Rick, and their 5 children of Diagonal, IA; Merralyn K. VAILLANCOURT and her husband, Tom, and their 2 children of Wilmington, DE; Stewart E. HICKMAN and his wife, Annette, and their 2 children of Newark, DE; and former daughter-in-law, Nancy FICHTHORN and her husband, Phil, and their 4 children of Madison, CT.

Friends and family may call at the Chandler Funeral Home, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, on Friday, February 20, from 5-8 pm.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 21, at the Limestone Presbyterian Church, 3201 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE at 10 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
