OBITUARY - LILLIAN (BEAL) ZARR COOKE

Lillian (BEAL) ZARR COOKE, 94, of El Monte, Calif., formerly of Diagonal, died November 1, 2005, at Idle Acre in El Monte, Calif.

Graveside services were 10 a.m. Monday, November 7, at Diagonal Cemetery. The Rev. John BERAN officiated the service. Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr, had charge of arrangements.

Mrs. COOKE, daughter of Allie (POLEN) and Arthur Wesley BEAL, was born February 17, 1911, at Diagonal. In 1932, she married Carl ZARR. Later, she married Joseph COOKE.

Survivors include two sons, Gayland ZARR of Los Angeles and Paul ZARR of Rison, Ark.; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Paul and Elbert Dean BEAL; and daughter Barbara HUGHES.
